These polymers are prepared by electrochemical polymerisation of at least one monomer of this formula (I) in the presence of a conductive salt, where the anode has a specific surface area of at least 0.01 m<2>/g and preferably has a grid, sponge, woven or felt structure, the electrolyte solvent is dipolar and aprotic, and the electrolyte system is only agitated gently, or not at all, relative to the anode. The polymers according to the invention are particularly suitable for coating purposes.</p>
