The invention relates to a lifting device with arms and/or scissor-type stays comprising an intermediate support (4) which can be selectively lowered and/or raised relative to a base (1) and a connecting mechanism (2, 3) connecting the base and the support (4). According to the invention, the support (4) constitutes the base of two platforms or gondolas (7) separated from one another by a predetermined distance, it being possible for the said gondolas (7) to be lowered and/or raised selectively and independently relative to the said support (4) to which they are each connected by an appropriate connecting mechanism (5, 6) by means of at least one actuating member.
