<p>A permanent magnet generator (50) includes a rotor (56) having poles (P1-P12) wherein one of poles (P1) of the rotor is non-magnetic. A stator (54) has stator windings (106, 118, 130) wound in cooperation with the poles of the rotor. The non-magnetic pole establishes at least one predetermined position of the rotor. A sensing coil (100) is wound on the stator. The sensing coil responds to the non-magnetic pole by providing an electrical signal indicative of the predetermined position of the rotor.</p> |
