The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with a belt drive. The latter has a V-belt pulley (1) formed from dished and elastically flexible pulley elements. In order to be able to ensure a tolerance adjustment of the belt length when assembling and a satisfactorily reproducible automatic adjustment in the event of wear-induced elongation of the V-belt (6), the pulley elements are designed as disk springs (2, 3). In the said disc springs the outside diameter area forms a running surface (4, 5) for the V-belt (6). The inside diameter area has a plane bearing surface (7, 8) with recesses (16, 17) for the mounting of means of connection. <IMAGE>
