Foreign particles are removed from the plate cylinder (10) of an offset press by interconnecting two ink form rollers (12, 13), by means of gearing, pulleys or belts, to rotate in unison at different surface velocities. The connection between the form rollers (12, 13) maintains a fixed ratio between the surface velocities of the rollers (12, 13) which is other than 1:1 and causes the surface of at least one of the form rollers (12, 13) to wipe the surface of the plate cylinder (10). The rollers (12, 13) are frictionally driven by the plate cylinder and/or by two positively driven vibrating rollers (15, 16). <IMAGE>
