<p>PURPOSE:To provide a new printer having heat sensitive liquid-adsorption resin used therein that requires no running costs in a thermal transfer recording method. CONSTITUTION:A platen 2 is disposed at a transfer part A facing to a thermal head 1 being heating means. A recording medium 3 is carried from left to right through the space between them and an endless ink retainer 4 is also carried therethrough, The ink retainer 4 is so constituted that a heat sensitive liquid-absorption resin is laminated on a base film, Since the heat sensitive liquid-absorption resin has properties of becoming a swelling and liquid absorption state above the transition temperature, and becoming a contraction and liquid discharge state below the transition temperature, ink is swollen into a saturate state below the transition temperature. By directing the layer of the heat sensitive liquid absorption resin outward, it is carried by guide rollers 5, 6, 7 to be possibly in face-contact with the recording medium 3. Liquid- discharged ink heated by the thermal head 1 above the transition temperature is transferred to the recording medium 3. An ink supply part B is provided in the way of the carrying path of the ink retainer 4 to thereby replenish with ink the ink retainer 4 that has used up ink during transfer.</p> |
