An optical information medium (2) providing a protective layer (25) above an optically transparent substrate (21) to protect a recording part, and can record information which is optically readable by means of laser beam. An aqueous printing ink-fixable, hydrophilic resin film (26) is formed on the protective layer (25). Given letters and patterns can be printed easily and satisfactorily. Such letters and patterns are printable by means of, for example, an ink jet printer.
