摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the space of a driver's seat from being narrowed, by deforming a pedal bracket in the collision of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:As for a pedal bracket 1 which is installed along the longitudinal direction of a car body at a corner divided by an instrument panel and a dash panel, a cut part 9 is formed in the car body width direction on the outside surface of a curved part along the corner which is dividedly formed by the instrument panel and the dashpanel of the pedal bracket 1, and a bent part 8 is formed by forming a recessed part in the car body width direction at the rear part of the pedal bracket 1, and a guide plate 12 having wach plate surface in a nearly L shape forwardly and upwardly is installed at both the edges at the lower edge of the pedal bracket 1. In the collision of the automobile, the pedal bracket 1 is bent in the longitudinal direction from the cut part 9, and further bent from the bent part 8. Further, the guide plate 12 is bent rearward. Accordingly, the car body deflection quantity is absorbed by the pedal bracket 1. Further, since the car body deformation gives no influence to a column supporting part, the stabilization of a steering shaft can be achieved.
