摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the magnetic flux density in an end section of a field winding and to increase field current by arranging superconductors in a special row in a slot of the end section. CONSTITUTION:In a field winding 1, superconductors are arranged in two rows in a linear section 1a, but in an end section 1b, a superconductor is arranged in one row at the most inner side and outside of that one-row superconductor, an outside coil #1 of the linear section and an inside coil #2 of the linear section come together and form two rows of slots. A superconductor 9 is wound in a double pancake method according to the two-row arrangement in a slot in the linear section and the coils are connected at a superconductor junction 11. By this method, the magnetic flux density in the coil end section is remarkably reduced since the superconductor is arranged in one row at the most inner side. The magnetic flux density at corners of the coil end section are also reduced since the superconductor 1 is arranged in one row at any corner. Therefore, even if field current is increased, a strong magnetic field can be obtained.
