PURPOSE:To reduce power required for writing by providing a light absorption layer adjacent to a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In the recording medium, a recording layer 2 and a transparent spacer 3 are laminated alternately on a transparent substrate 1 or on the substrate 1 with a reflection surface and a light absorption layer 5 is provided adjacent to the recording layer 2. When light beams used for writing are applied to the recording layer 2, the light beams are also applied to the light absorption layer 5. Then, the light absorption layer 5 absorbs light beams and release heat and then the heat is transferred to the recording layer 2, thus promoting recording operation. By allowing light to be absorbed by the light absorption layer 5, power required for writing can be reduced. Also, by performing inclination allocation of an absorption rate, writing power to each recording layer 2 can be nearly equally distributed. |
