PURPOSE:To obtain a safety device for a rolling stock positively detecting the fault of a motor control system, capable of automatically preventing the runaway, etc., of the rolling stock and having excellent safety and operationability. CONSTITUTION:A motor 4 for driving a rolling stack, a battery 1 for driving the motor, an inverter 3 PWM-modulating currents from the battery 1 and driving the motor 4, a motor control circuit 8, a circuit breaker 2A mounted between the battery l and the inverter 3, an encoder 6 detecting the rotary information of the motor 4, an F-V converter 9 and an input means 5, to which a signal related to the driving force of at least a driving wheel is input, are installed. A safety device is composed of an arithmetic circuit 10 arithmetically operating currents to the inverter 3 from the battery 1 on the basis of outputs from the F-V converter 9 and the input means 5 and preset map information and a comparator 14 comparing reference currents arithemetically operated by the arithmetic circuit 10 and currents actually supplied to the inverter 3 through the circuit breaker 2A from the battery 1 and controlling the circuit breaker 2A in response to the result of the comparison. |
