PURPOSE:To obtain an optical communication module which performs communication between a personal computer and a peripheral unit. CONSTITUTION:An interface part 10 is connected to a multipolar connector at a back part 5 of the personal computer, and a 3-P jack 11 is provided there. A two-core shielded cord 27 is provided in an optical unit part 20 which transmits/receives infrared rays via an infrared filter window 21, and it can be inserted/extracted freely to/from the 3-P jack 11 by a 3-P plug 29. The optical unit part 20 is provided with a battery, which also operates the interface part 20. Therefore, since it is enough to insert/extract the 3-P plug 29 at need, space efficiency can be improved. Also, since no cable between the personal computer and the peripheral unit is required, convenience to omit cable construction can be obtained. |
