Appts. for deposition of soln. on culture medium comprises (a) a rotating table (12), driven by a motor (20), supporting the culture medium (13). (b) a soln. distributor (8) connected to a stylet (15) which displaces radially w.r.t. the tablet (12) by a mechanism (5) with motor (6). (c) a programming unit (1) which controls the motors (6,20), selecting the form of deposition of soln. on the culture medium. The distributor deposits a preset volume, at least one drop, on rotating culture medium via the radially mobile stylet which determines the separation between depositions. The programming unit can vary the volume deposited between depositions. More than one form of deposition can be chosen. USE/ADVANTAGE - Determination of bacterial concentration in soln. Simple controlled variation of volume and separation of depositions avoids cross contamination and errors due to centrifugal force. |
