Known devices for measuring the mass of a flowing medium have two separate carrier apertures for receiving in each case a measuring resistor, in order to achieve the necessary minimum measuring wire length. However, this results in the disadvantage that the carrier body takes up a relatively large built-in length. According to the invention, two measuring wires (3, 4) connected to each other electrically are arranged inside a first carrier aperture (40) in a V-shape, behind each other in the flow direction (2) and offset transversely to the flow direction (2), in order to enable a relatively large measuring wire length, with the result that the device has a high measuring accuracy and takes up a low built-in length. The invention is provided for the measurement of the mass of a flowing medium, in particular for measuring the intake air mass of internal combustion engines (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
