In a process for the valorisation of sewage sludge, the latter is first completely dried. In a subsequent degasification process at temperatures of more than 400 DEG C up to 500 DEG C with simultaneous grinding, sewage sludge coke with a content of 10 to 40 % by weight of organic substances is produced, which is particularly suitable as a filler for asphalt.
