PURPOSE:To provide a refractory for continuous casting nozzle excellent in thermal shock resistance. CONSTITUTION:(1) The refractory for continuous casting nozzle, in which a composition of, by weight, 3-40% graphite and 60-97% refractory is added with 3-30% the metal powder to generate an interstitial carbide of carbon (MC), subjecting to mixing, forming and firing. (2) The refractory for continuous casting nozzle, in which a composition of, by weight, 3-40% graphite and 60-97% refractory is added with the metal powder and powder of Al or Si to generate an interstitial carbide of carbon (MC), subjecting to mixing, forming and firing. By this method, production costs such as cost reduction of nozzle for continuous casting, relaxation of preheating condition, etc., is reduced. |
