PURPOSE:To obtain a nitrogen oxide removing catalyst with high activity usable over a wide range of temperatures when nitrogen oxide is removed from oxygen contg. waste combustion gas by depositing copper and phosphorus on a zeolite. CONSTITUTION:In a nitrogen oxide removing catalyst, a zeolite carries copper and phosphorus. A method of depositing copper on a zeolite used there is not specifically limited, but for a method of depositing phosphorus, for example, the immersion one is mentioned, in which, for example, phosphorous compounds are dissolved in water and a zeolite or a zeolite carrying copper is immersed in the solution, or water solution of phosphorous compounds is added to it. The order in which copper and phosphorus are deposited is not limited. Products formed by adjusted catalysts are analyzed by a gas chromatograph to obtain the conversion ratios to nitrogen from the produced quantity of nitrogen. As a result, as shown in the figure, an embodiment 1, with a catalyst contg. phosphorus, has higher conversion ratios to nitrogen over a wide temperature range as compared with a comparison example 1, with a catalyst not contg. phosphorus. |
