Method for identifying test tubes intended to contain fractions of a sample (2), consisting in affixing on the primary tube a single main self-adhesive label (3) carrying a reference for identifying a patient from whom the sample has been taken, this label being itself formed by a plurality of derivative labels (6, 7, 8, 9) which can separately identify each of the secondary tubes relating to the main tube after each of these secondary tubes has been filled with a fraction coming from the sample, each of the derivative labels comprising a set of mutually identical labels relating to the patient and to the sampling conditions and at least one complementary indication relating to the analysis to be carried out on the fraction contained in the corresponding secondary tube. <IMAGE>
