The desired height can be adjusted on the described false-floor support even under loading. For this purpose, the support column (3), connected to a head part (1) and a foot part (2), is composed of a column part (4) with right-hand thread, of a column part (5) with left-hand thread and of a connecting sleeve (6) which can be screwed to the column parts (4, 5). Consequently, the false-floor support can be adjusted to the necessary desired height by rotating the connecting sleeve (6). Head part and foot part (1, 2) are configured such that the square head part (1), on the one hand, projects beyond the foot part (2) on at least two adjacent sides, but, on the other hand, is set back with respect to the foot part (2). Consequently, the support can also be mounted in room corners and directly along walls without obstructing the fastening of the foot part (2) on the basic floor. <IMAGE>
