PURPOSE:To obtain the colorfull and attractive display having a stereoscopic effect by laminating liquid crystal cells having the same display pattern and using one neutral polarizing plate and two color polarizing plates. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 12A and 12B are formed on substrates 11A and 11B in a first liquid crystal cell 1, and orientation control films 13A and 13B are formed on these electrodes. In the same manner, transparent electrodes 17A and 17B are formed on substrates 16A and 16B in a second liquid crystal cell 2, and orientation control films 18A and 18B are formed on these electrodes. A neutral polarizing plate 3 is arranged on the outside of the first liquid crystal cell 1, and a first color polarizing plate 4 is arranged between the first liquid crystal cell 1 and the second liquid crystal cell 2, and a second color polarizing plate 5 different from the first color polarizing plate 4 by transmission color is arranged on the outside of the second liquid crystal cell 2. Further, an illuminating means 7 is provided. |
