PURPOSE:To discriminate whether non-coincidence between a detected image pattern and a standard image pattern is caused by protrusion or omission and to easily set an arithmetic area calculating an image area. CONSTITUTION:This pattern matching detector detects the degree of coincidence between the detected image pattern and the previously decided standard image pattern by comparing both of patterns. The device binarizes the detected image pattern and the standard image pattern and calculates the omission or protrusion of the detected image pattern or the quantity of non-coincidence by ANDing 52, ORing 53 or exclusively ORing the binarized detected image pattern and standard image pattern. When measuring the area of the detected image pattern inside the arithmetic area by using the device, the arithmetic area can be set by photographing. |
