Method and device for generating energetically useful vorticity from parallel flows

A method and a device for generating useful vorticity from parallel flows is proposed which has a flow module for producing a potential vortex and a turbine which is arranged in the direction of action of the potential vortex. The flow module comprises an outer hollow body constructed from a plurality of diffusor columns, on or between which flaps are arranged. The outer hollow body is covered with plates which have one or more outflow openings. The turbine is arranged in the region of one or more outflow openings in such a way that approximately half the width of the rotor body is covered by the plates. The dynamic (stagnation, head) pressure acting on the outer hollow body generates a rotary flow. Dynamic pressures and circulations are produced on the diffusor column. The rotary flow generated inside drives by means of slotted-type injectors jet flows which because of the shape of the diffusor columns and of the flaps are subject to torques and generate a rotary flow around the flow module. Because of the higher wall shears of the jet flows and the resulting outer rotary flow, more vorticity is generated which is diffused into the inward-going rotary flow and accumulates to form a strong vortex.
