<p>An elongated elastic cylindrical member (22) joined at opposite ends by fittings (24), (26) to form an annular member (20) is provided. The annular member (20) is designed for disposition about a body limb (10) near the end (14) thereof adjacent the torso and with the annular member (20) circumferentially stretched and exerting a heavy radial inward pressure upon the limb (10) at least substantially the full length of an elongated zone extending completely around the associated limb (10) with the inward force of the annular member (20) on the limb (10) being sufficient to locally compress not only limb veins closely adjacent the skin surface but also arteries spaced further beneath the limb surface.</p> |
