<p>A water purification apparatus utilizing a reverse osmosis cartridge (65) which supplies a measured amount of potable water to substantially fill an open top pitcher (107) of known desired size. This free-standing apparatus includes an electric pump (67) which withdraws water from an overhead reservoir (35) and pumps it through prefilters (61, 63) and the reverse osmosis cartridge (65), from which a brine stream (87) returns to the reservoir (35) and a product water stream (91) discharges from an overhead outlet (95) above the pitcher. Control means (69) monitors the level and quality of water in the reservoir as well as the quality of the product water.</p> |
