An actuator, which is actuated electrochemically with direct current by means of expansion or contraction of a driving means, receives a current signal which is formed by means of the logical coupling of a plurality of criteria. In the case of fertilising plants, these can be the temperature, the insolation, time of day and season and the time since the beginning. A plurality of actuators can be driven using proportional actuating currents of different sizes, or one actuator can act on a plurality of pistons of different cross-sections. In order to add the smallest possible quantities, roller bearings can be subsequently lubricated only with the base oil of the grease.
