<p>PURPOSE:To inform an overloaded state of a number of recording paper sheets loaded on a paper feed tray which is freely movable up and down, and facilitate the removal of the excess of recording paper sheets. CONSTITUTION:Either of a paper feed unit 10 and a multi-paper sheet feed tray 50 is raised or lowered to a pickup roller 43 part located at one position, and positioned, thereafter paper sheets are fed. The positions of the paper feed unit 10, the multi-paper sheet feed tray 50, and the pickup roller 43 are detected by a detecting means. When printing paper sheets 68 on the multi-paper sheet feed tray 50 are fed, and the stacked printing paper sheets reach the height H3 of overload, an overload judging means judges that the paper sheets are in an overloaded state, based on a detected signal from the detecting means, to inform it by an informing means. At the same time, a judging signal is outputted to move the multi-paper sheet feed tray 50 below the pickup roller 43, and thus facilitate the removal of the excess of printing paper sheets 68.</p> |
