PURPOSE:To provide the device enabling to treat sewage with excellent driving power efficiency even in a water treating tank with high depth of water and to economically treat a large quantity of sewage with a small floor space. CONSTITUTION:A vertical pipe path 1 is provided extending from an upper layer part of the sewage in the water treating tank to the deep layer part, and a underwater agitating aeration device 6 is installed at the bottom end part of the vertical pipe path 1 via a U-shaped pipe 4, and an air intake part 2 is provided near the upper end part of the vertical pipe path 1.
