The screw feed device incorporates a fixed base part (3) on which a feeding part (4) moves forwards and backwards. The strip (11) with the screws is arranged to pass to the feeding part (4) outer end so that the screws can be fed forward in stages and inserted into a base by the screw driver (2). The feeding part (4) has a feed unit which is in connection with the screws and/or the strip. The feeding part supports a sepn. device (20), by means of which the strip (11) can be sepd. after the screws have been emptied from it.
