The invention relates to a tandem axle assembly for commercial vehicles with axles (8) guided on links (1, 4) and leaf springs (9) suspended in self-aligning spring bearings (6), which springs are supported against the axle bearings and the vehicle frame (3, 7). Multi-functional bearers (2) are provided for direct attachment of the wishbones (1), the trailing links (4) and the self-aligning spring bearings (5), irrespective of the design of the vehicle frame (3, 7) and dispensing with any fixing on the frame cross member (3). <IMAGE>
