PURPOSE:To easily and quickly confirm the layout on a display screen and to improve the operability of a word processor by opening a window for display the image information on a document layout when a cursor is set on the specific character string information. CONSTITUTION:A cursor C is set on the character string which has undergone the (nXm)-fold character processing on an input or editing/correcting screen, and a system is previously set so that a window is automatically opened. Under such conditions, the window is opened in a prescribed area of a display part 54. Then the print layout image of an entire corresponding page displayed at present at the part 54 is shown on the opened window. Thus an operator can easily confirm the layout state of arrangement, etc., of the entire page. Furthermore the window is automatically closed when the cursor C is set on a character string other than that has undergone the (nXm)-fold character processing. As a result, no extra nor complicated jobs are required to the operator other than the usual input/editing jobs. Then the working efficiency of a word processor is improved. |
