Compact stripline gas laser

Compact gas laser with stripline excitation, which is suitable as a spindle unit or processing, cutting and boring tool. The amplifier region is located between two electrodes having a slender blade shape. As a result, a focused symmetrical virtually Gaussian beam with high power is emitted, the wide amplifier region with a stripline-exciter design being sampled. The device is characterised by a resonator, consisting of a focusing mirror and a second reflecting plane which comprises various regions of different reflectance, so that a folded path having six or more branches is the only beam distribution which is sustained in the laser cavity.
