<p>PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device which does not generate shorting and disconnecting of signal lines by providing the side parts of the signal lines with flattening films having slopes. CONSTITUTION:The scanning signal line GL formed on lower transparent glass substrate SUBI formed with a thin-film transistor TFT is constituted of a second conductive film g2. The second conductive film g2 of the scanning signal line GL is formed by the same production stage as for a second conductive film g2 of a gate electrode GT and is integrally formed therewith. An insulating film GI is used as a gate insulating film for applying an electric field to an (i) type semiconductor layer AS together with the gate electrode GT in thin-film transistors TFT1, TFT2 and further, the insulating film GI contributes to the electrical insulation of the scanning signal line GL and the video signal line DL as well. The side part of the scanning signal line GL and the gate electrode GT is provided with the flattening film PLN having the slopes. The insulating film GI, the conductive film g2 and a photoresist are, therefore, surely formed in the side parts of the gate electrode GL.</p> |
