A process for producing hydrophilic membranes using at least one hydrophobic polymer and polyvinylpyrrolidone as a hydrophilic polymer, membrane-forming shaping of the polymers and immobilisation of the polyvinylpyrrolidone is characterised in that the polyvinylpyrrolidone is immobilised on and/or in the membrane by hot treatment with an aqueous peroxodisulphate solution. The membranes are used for haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration or haemofiltration of blood.
