PURPOSE:To form highly reliable images by judging a paper size based on the output of respective detection means for paper sheet width and length at the time of detecting the drawing condition of a drawer member fitted to a manual paper feed base is detected. CONSTITUTION:This manual sheet feeder fitted to one side surface of an electronic copying machine is provided with a manual guide 42 as a folable paper feed base, and a tray 43 as a drawer member inside the manual guide 42 so as to be drawn out. Plural detectors 48a-48d as width detecting means are mounted inside the paper feed base 42 at prescribed intervals along the traveling direction of a guide body 44, and a length detector 51 which detects the movement of an actuator 52 to detect the length of the paper sheet on the lower surface side of the tray 43. A detector 55 for detecting that the tray 43 is drawn out to the prescribed position is mounted on the top end open part side inside the sheet feed base 42. Paper sheet size is judged based on the detected results of its width and length at the time of detecting that the tary 43 is drawn out. |
