PURPOSE:To convert yarn wastes of silk yarn obtained from a cocoon of Antheraea yamamai Guerin-Meneville as a product such as a craftwork or an ornament by preparing nonwoven fabric or Japanese paper from the yarn wastes. CONSTITUTION:Yarn wastes of silk yarn (wild silk) obtained from a cocoon of Antheraea yamamai Guerin-Meneville are immersed in a solution prepared by dissolving a surfactant in warm water to remove oils. After washing the yarn wastes, fiber is finely uniformized. The fiber in the form of a dumpling is elongated in a water tank and the wild silk fiber is solely used or mixed with vegetable fiber to afford nonwoven fabric or Japanese paper according to a technique of manufacturing the Japanese paper. |
