PURPOSE: To provide a medicine for oral or topical administration at the time of the treatment of protozoa infectious diseases and more particularly leishmaniasis with which the serious side effects are at least partly removed. CONSTITUTION: The drug contg. one or more kinds of the compds. of formula I [R<1> is 12 to 20C satd. hydrocarbon group or unsatd. hydrocarbon group having >=1 pieces of unsatd. bonds; R2 to R4 are H, 1 to 5C alkyl, 3 to 6C cycloalkyl, 1 to 5C hydroxyalkyl, or two among R2 to R4 form 2 to 6C alkylene which may be substd. with O, S, NR<5> in some cases (R<5> is H, 1 to 5C alkyl, 3 to 6C cycloalkyl, 1 to 5C hydroxyalkyl) with each other], and in some cases, ordinarily used pharmaceutical assistants, diluents, excipients and/or extending agents. Further, the alkyl glycerols of formula II (one of R<6> , R<7> is 2 to 12C alkyl and the other is H) or their mixtures may be incorporated into this drug.
