<p>PURPOSE: To accurately correlate a decoration with a base in transferring an emboss foil for decoration on the base. CONSTITUTION: In a method and an apparatus for transferring a decoration on a base with a flat surface such as a card from an emboss foil, the base 64 is passed through an emboss processing region 66 with the emboss foil 74 and is moved and the decoration is transferred there on the base 64 from the emboss foil 74. The emboss foil 74 has a series of decorations respectively provided with correlated marks and is continuously moved at a definite speed and passes through a sensor for detecting each mark. The sensor 78 controls a forward-carrying means 16 to send stepwisely the base 64 to the emboss processing region 66 to fit movement of the base 64 with movement of the foil 74 and to adjust in such a way that a right positional relation of the base 64 and decoration to be applied on the base is ensured.</p> |
