PURPOSE:To enhance the insulating characteristic at the insulator layer of a CV cable connection, by forming the insulator layer by winding a self-welding tape around a conductor connection in an electrically negative gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An insulator layer is formed by winding a self-welding tape 1 around a cable conductor connection in an atmosphere of an electrically negative gas such as SF6, N2, etc., for example. And the voids (gaps at the abutting parts or lapping parts of the self-welding tape 1) in this insulator layer are filled with the electrically negative gas 2. Since this electrically negative gas 2 has high insulating resistance and is hard to produce sparks, discharge inside the voids is suppressed, and partial discharge starting voltage and AC breakdown voltage become higher. Consequently, it becomes possible to enhance the insulating characteristic in the insulator layer of a CV (crosslinked- polyethylene-insulated power) cable connection.
|
