PURPOSE: To provide a dividing device which can be especially satisfactorily adapted to a microcontroller, in which a large number can be used as a module with a sufficient processing speed. CONSTITUTION: This device is designed in order to execute the division of a dividend A formed of (m) words by a base (b) by a divisor D. This is provided with an active memory 2, and a multiplying member forming one part of a calculating unit 8 provided with a first input terminal (x)i for the (x) words of a multiplicand and a second input terminal Ai for the (y) words of a multiplier. This is provided at the position of the memory 2 for adding the multiples of amounts (d) (b)k (b)J calculated by the above mentioned multiplying member, for applying the instruction of the zero value of a separated character to the above mentioned position by a testing means, for activating the calculating means until the testing means applies the above mentioned instruction, and for decreasing a value J by each instruction by a decreasing means. The remainder of the division is present at the final position, and the quotient is present at the first position. |
