POLARIZATION IMAGING FILTER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization imaging filter that has high transmissivity and effectively serves in the whole wavelength band of visible light, and to provide a method of manufacturing the filter.SOLUTION: A polarization imaging filter 1 includes a polarizer array 2. In the polarizer array 2, a plurality of polarizer units 3 of different transmission axis directions 4 are arranged two-dimensionally in two rows and two columns. The transmission axis directions 4 of the plurality of polarizer units 3 arranged in the polarizer array 2 are regular. Each polarizer unit 3 has a periodic structure of high refractive index parts 11 and low refractive index parts 12. The periodic structure is a refractive index change region formed in a cover glass by oxygen excess and oxygen defect.
