<p>PURPOSE: To protect preserved data or programs from unauthorized copy, and to prevent the usage by storing unchangeable and stable read only protection codes which in a memory card. CONSTITUTION: A memory card is constituted of a reading/writing memory device 2, read only device 4, and interface 8 for connecting a control device 6 for controlling the memory devices 2 and 4 and the memory card with a computer system. An application program is stored with an assigned protection routine and comparison code in the reading/writing memory device 2 of the memory card. Protection codes are stored in the read only memory device 4, and enciphered with the comparison codes in an unchangeable and stable state. Therefore, protected software can be copied to a diskette or a hard disk, and the copied soft can not be immediately used.</p> |
