<p>A bin lifter adapted to lift a refuse or recycling bin (4) for discharge into a collection vehicle by way of a lifter arm (1) has a comb (7) engageable under the rim (8) of the bin and a suction cup (12) operable to hold the bin against the end portion (6) of the arm (1). A short finger clamp (13) is provided, operable by a pneumatic piston and cylinder assembly (15) on a bell crank lever pivoting about pin (14) to exert a light and yieldable force on the rim (8) of the bin, restraining the bin from sliding across the face of the suction cup (12) under adverse conditions.</p> |
