PURPOSE:To obtain an anti-glioma agent comprising Shoshikoto of Chinese herbal remedy such as root of Bupleurum falcapum, bark of inellia ternata, root of Scutellaria baicalensis, root of Panax ginseng, fruit of Zizyphus jujuba, root of Glycyrrhiza glabra, rhizome of Cnidium officinale, etc., as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An anti-glioma agent excellently effective for brain tumor comprises Shosaikoto (namely blending range of 4.0-7.0 of root of Bupleurum falcapum, 4.0-5.0 of bark of inellia ternata, 3.0 of root of Scutellaria baicalensis, 2.0-3.0 of root of Panax ginseng, 2.0-3.0 of fruit of Zizyphus jujuba, 2.0 of root of Glycyrrhiza glabra and 1.0-4.0 of rhizome of Cnidium officinale), as an active ingredient. The anti-glioma agent can be administered by an oral agent or a parenteral agent such as injection or agent for intravenous drip. In the case of oral administration, about 1-15 g calculated as an amount of essence of Shoshiko is administered per adult daily once or three times dividedly. |
