<p>PURPOSE:To make blood flow measurement by using a material harmless to the human body as a tracer. CONSTITUTION:The head 4 to be diagnosed is irradiated with light including a wavelength region where an absorption peak or absorption change exists only at either of water or heavy water. The light transmitted through the head 4 is detected by a photoelectron multiplier 6 and the detected light is converted to an electric signal by an A/D converter 7. A CPU 1 subjects the change- component of the electric signal occurring in the physiological saline heavy water injected into the artery to prescribed computation, calculates the pass time of the injected physiological saline heavy water and determines the blood flow in accordance with the separately determined blood volume. As a result, the clinical use of the device is possible and the stable measurement and the results having high precision are obtd.</p> |
