PURPOSE:To obtain a composition excellent in flame retardancy and an electrical wire.cable using the composition. CONSTITUTION:This flame-retardant composition is obtained by adding 0.01-20 pts.wt. metallic salt of fatty acid to a composition consisting of 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin or rubber and 30-200 pts.wt. metal hydrate. The electrical wire.cable has a coating layer consisting of this composition.
