PURPOSE:To select, isolate and purify a new neuroblastoma growth inhibiting factor useful for the treatment of neuroblastoma and to determine its properties. CONSTITUTION:This neuroblastoma growth inhibiting factor has the following properties: (a) having molecular weight of about 30,000-70,000; (b) deactivated by heating for 10min, at 90 deg.C or by treating with trypsin for 180min at 37 deg.C; (c) obtained as a basic protein in a non-absorbed faction from an anion exchange chromatography, or in a NaCl eluted fraction from a cation exchange chromatography or blue dye affinity chromatography of a culture broth of astrocytoma or a glia cell; (d) exhibiting neuroblastoma growth-inhibitary activity in the assay using human neuroblast. |
