Thermal transfer printing module

The thermal transfer printing module consists of a thermal print head (1), having a row of heating elements (3) arranged transversely to the transporting direction (5) of a recording medium (6) to be printed, and of a closed counter-pressure belt (7) which is guided around supporting rollers (10, 11, 12). The heating elements (3) are brought into contact on the counter-pressure belt (7) in the region of a first supporting roller (10) in such a way that the recording medium (6) can be passed through between the counter-pressure belt (7) and the heating elements (3) and a thermal transfer ink ribbon (8) can be passed through between the recording medium (6) and the heating elements (3). To provide a compact thermal transfer printing module of simple construction for the multi-colour printing of a recording medium, the thermal transfer printing module is fitted with a further thermal print head (2) with a row of heating elements (4) arranged transversely to the transporting direction (5) of the recording medium (6), the thermal print head (2) being brought into contact on the counter-pressure belt (7) via its heating elements (4) in the region of the supporting roller (12). <IMAGE>
