STARTING MOTOR

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve meshing performance between a pinion and a ring gear of an overhanging type starting motor. CONSTITUTION:A front side inner peripheral part of a pinion 5 is fitted to a spline serration 2a formed on a front part of a pinion shaft 2. A spring 8 is laid over an intermediate stepped part of the pinion 5 for always pressing and energizing the pinion 5 in the direction of a stopper 6. A rear side inner peripheral part 5a of the pinion 5 is in sliding contact with an outer diameter 2b of the pinion shaft sliding part so as not to incline the pinion 5 at the time of meshing.
