The feeding structure is formed by a grid of several feed hoppers (18) arranged in side-by-side relationship and one behind the other. The discharge structure is formed by a further grid of discharge hoppers (20) arranged in side-by-side relationship and one behind the other. At least on one side as well as in the head zone of the reaction chamber (14), waste gas passages are provided.
