PURPOSE:To realize a stereoscopic video broadcast while utilizing an existing television broadcast system by sending a right eye use picture and a left eye use picture in time division corresponding to each area defined and divided on one pattern of one picture transmission channel. CONSTITUTION:A broadcast channel for high vision is utilized. A tuner 1, a MUSE decoder 2, a synchronizing separator circuit 7, a picture circuit 8 and a display device 9 form a high vision receiver. A high vision pattern is divided into vertical or horizontal areas by a time division technology, and a right eye use picture and a left eye use picture are set to each area and then sent. The picture is given to a synchronizing separator circuit 3 and a picture circuit 4 and the output of the circuits is received by a picture division circuit 5, in which the picture is divided. To divide a pattern, the picture is outputted to a left eye portion of a display device 6 when a raster is set in an area of a left eye pattern and the picture is outputted to a right eye portion of the display device 6 when the raster is set in an area of a right eye pattern. |
